Hosted Activities - In addition to the numerous outdoor activities, Sierra Skies RV Park also hosts barbeques, impromptu cocktail parties, potlucks, and Friday morning "coffee clatches." Annual community events are held on park grounds for all to enjoy including a Memorial Day Weekend "all around the town sale," and an Oktoberfest in the fall.

Fishing - Fish for trophy trout on the Yuba River. Usually the river is difficult to access, but Sierra Skies RV Park provides easy and private access.

activities1
Fishing

Picnicking - Enjoy one of the simple pleasures of camping and enjoy an outdoor meal on the banks of the Yuba. Watch the local wildlife or fellow campers as they enjoy the waters of the Yuba River.

Boating (Kayaking and Rafting) - Whether you want to face the challenging rapids, or drift near the park on a raft, the Yuba River provides beautiful scenery. Drift along, or tackle the whitewater while you view the rugged river canyons and forested banks and hillsides. (Sierra Skies RV Park does not provide any boat craft.)

activities2
Canoeing

Swimming - Sunbathe or get in the water on the private beach. The Yuba River's sparkling water is inviting and crystal clear.

Gold Panning/Dredging - All campers at Sierra Skies RV Park are welcome to pan for gold in the Yuba's waters. Several nuggets equaling seven ounces have been found recently. Dredging is currently prohibited in California and therefore no longer allowed on park premises.

Water Fun
Birdwatching/Nature Study - The banks of the Yuba River is an ideal place to study the local species of birds and wildlife. Keep your eyes open and have your binoculars ready for swallows, pileated woodpeckers, northern goshawks, pine martern, and the elusive Californian spotted owl. You'll also see dogwood blooms along the canyon hillsides, as well as sycamore, willow, and alder trees. Deer, ducks, and geese are abundant, while the black bears, mountain lions and foxes appear occasionally. activities4
